Set between the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, Dolphin Cottage and Porthallow Lodge are ideal for guests who want coast path walks, quiet coves, relaxed beach days and cosy evenings by the sea. With Talland Bay close by, the South West Coast Path on the doorstep and local cafés, restaurants and harbour villages within easy reach, this is a wonderful base for exploring Cornwall at any time of year.

Dolphin Cottage is full of character and history, converted from the original granary and coach house of the old Porthallow estate. Tucked into an enclosed courtyard shared with one other cottage, it offers a cosy sitting room, practical kitchen/dining space and a bright garden room opening onto a private patio for outdoor meals after a day at the beach. Upstairs, the double and twin bedrooms look out over the rural surroundings towards the sea.
Porthallow Lodge
A sweet single-storey lodge for two with a sunny south-facing terrace, cosy sitting room, compact kitchen/diner, queen-size bed and sea glimpses through the trees. Ideal for couples, walkers and small/medium dogs.

Porthallow Lodge is a cosy traditional single-storey lodge entered through a private garden gate. Inside, guests will find a comfortable sitting room, compact kitchen/diner, queen-size bed and bathroom with shower over bath. Outside, the sunny south-facing terrace is a lovely spot for a morning coffee, relaxed lunch or evening drink after walking the coast path. The lodge is peaceful and tucked away, yet close to Talland Bay, the Talland Bay Hotel, local cafés and the walking routes to Looe and Polperro.

Talland Bay is just 350 metres from the cottage, you’ll find the world-famous South West Coast Path – England’s longest National Trail, stretching for 630 miles along some of the country’s most spectacular coastline.

What a lovely lodge, for just 2 people, you really could stay here for 2 weeks or more. Although we mostly ate out at restaurants the lodge has sufficient cooking facilities and equipped kitchen that you could “eat at home”. It’s very peaceful and a short walk from a cafe at the sea front. All of the facilities are comfortable. Would definitely return, even if out of season.

We cannot recommend Polly’s cottage enough. We had the most wonderful stay at Dolphin Cottage. The cottage has everything you need and more, Polly kindly dropped a view additional bits and pieces over to make our stay even more comfortable, including a home made cream tea which was delicious. The cottage is clean, tidy and very cosy and comfortable, especially after a day of exploring the most stunning sections of the South West coast path. The bed is extremely comfortable, the bathrooms squeaky clean and a really well equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed sitting in the garden and garden room in the morning with our coffee just watching the bird life. The location of the cottage is just amazing, only a few minutes walk down to the sea and the most breath taking view of the bay. We cannot wait to return to Dolphin cottage and will be recommended it to all our friends and family. Thank you so much Polly for a wonderful stay. Xxx
